Have a strange noise which seems to be coming from under the drivers seat ,horrible grinding type ,octavia rs mk 1 02 ,very difficult to pin down and can often disappear for days ,and then suddenly return ,have had several mechanics check it out but no one can find exactly where its coming from ?Replaced brake pads and new set of f1 tyres ,any help most gratefull as nervous breakdown approaches :confused:

Centre exhaust mount rattling?

That's the only thing I can think of that makes a noise in that area of the car, test it by trying to move the pipe in the centre mount.

Other than that, you could have a badger lodged under the car!

I'd hope you'd notice the Badger, but yeah, centre exhaust mount. The exhausts are tough, but the mounts aren't!

Ta gents ,def no badger ,more grinding than squeaking ,will give that a go .:(
