2004 mate

Cam belt and the rest, because you are 4 year old. An expensive service, Get it done as cam bellt failure = $$$$$. Cheaper than an engine replacement and gives a potential buyer peace of mine. IFAIC £400+

all my local stealers said £265 for a cam belt change. So should be around that + normal service costs (normally around 200-250?).

been down to my local garage and got qouted for a cambelt change for £220 and £160 for a 4 year service which is need what you thing. good price???

Depends what it involves. Personally id rather go to a Dealers who will fit the correct G12 coolant, tensioners, engine mount bolts, uprated waterpump, belt etc rather than chance it with an 'independants'

Or do what i do, buy all the correct tackle and get it fitted uber-cheap by someone competent you know ;)

^ Half the dealers I rang for the 4 year service didnt have a ****ing clue what they were on about.

One said that the cambelt didnt need doing until 80k (Skoda dealer)

Another said brake fluid didnt need doing every 2 years (Skoda)

Another said that the Fabia VRS is on longlife servicing plan (Not so local indepedent)

Went down to my local retired mechanic who my dad has used for 20 years - and who does all his work in his garden shed (should be noted its rather a large shed with a lot of expensive equipment in it, but a shed in the garden nonetheless) and upon mentioning it needed the cambelt doing he said "Oh yeah thats right, I had a bulletin from Audi a while back now"

I've been quoted £200 by my local Skoda Specialist for cambelt + an extra £25 for watepump (recommended fit at same time) I plan to have it done in March09 when car is 4 years old and will have 33,000 miles approx.
