service warning?

Featured Replies

My fabia 2 is on 8k but the service indicator is telling me that a service is due in 1000 miles?

How so if the service interval is 10k?

Might be a variable service indicator?

Or it might be 12 months since the last service and that's what it is working off?

Exactly so; the service indicator starts counting down when you're 1000 miles or 1 month (whichever is nearer) to the next service (assumes fixed intervals).

The service interval might not calibrated during pre-delivery inspection...

Hope it's that as I haven't had the car for a year yet, barely six months.

Don't want to service it until 10k but don't want to bork the warranty either, will place a call to skoda.

My service due is running about 1,000 miles low as well.

If the handbook is anything to go by, the service intervals are in kilometres not in miles. The service interval is slightly under 10,000 miles. That's the only thing I can think of.

Has been the same on every VAG car I have owned, 15000 km = 9300 miles.

I always get mine done on time although I think your warranty is ok if you wait to 10k.

Getting it done 700 miles earlier doesn't really cost anything over the lifetime most people own a car. You would have to cover 120k miles before you have had paid for one more service than someone servicing every 10 k miles.

Very good point.
