Which dash trim piece?

Featured Replies

Following a recent purchase, I need to replace my radio trim in the near future. I currently have the silver coloured radio surround in my non vrs elegance and would like to replace it with silver again. So, looking up the parts I see there are 2 parts with identical description. So which do I need, my car does not have phone preparation.

1Z0 858 069 L 2AU - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system bright aluminium.

or

1Z0 858 069 Q 2AU - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system bright aluminium.

And what have I purchased, a nice Skoda branded MFD3.

I think 1Z0 858 069R 2AU is the most current part number Manny.

There is a 1Z0 858 069L 2AU as well as 1Z0 858 069R 2AU i'm sure one of them has a cut out for phone preparation but i'm not sure which one, iv'e seen a picture and either way you wouldn't want the wrong one.

There's a three letter code at the end of the item code. 2AU means aluminium and if I remember correctly additional ---was with phone preparation. Someone with ETKA can verify this.

My dealer accidentally ordered that trim piece for me. I took it because the phone cut doesn't bother me that much.

Edit :

9Q2 wasn't correct. It's the option code for maxidot ... Silly me...

The only difference between these part numbers is the "L" and the "R", is there a difference between left and right hand drive?

Should be the same. Usually when the letter changes it indicates a change in material or supplier or design (maybe not this one in dash pieces).

I believe these are correct (at least the silver vRS nav surround is, as that is the one I fitted!):

I have now ordered this one. 1Z0 858 069 L 2AU, should be able to collect on tuesday from my friendly dealer who is going to charge me £0.00 for it. As you can see it can sometimes pay to get to know your dealer.
