Fabia Steering....

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia 1.9tdi, 2001 model...

Sometimes randomly the steering decides to throw a light up on the dash and then the pas cuts out making it hard to steer for a little bit... I have scanned using vagcom and found this...

Address 44: Steering Assist

Controller: 6Q0 423 156 G

Component: Lenkhilfe 0004

Coding: 00110

Shop #: WSC 00000

1 Fault Found:

00816 - Power Steering Sensor (G250)

30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent

monitored the signal and it is displaying the steering angle etc...

Where is this sensor in question thats throwing this fault code? do I need a new one??

Thanks

Mark

PAS sensor is on the shaft going into the rack iirc

Mark,

Not sure if you know of the Ross-Tech Wiki. Heres a link to the page which explains the fault code you received.

Hi all !
I have this same issue and same result when i read fault codes

00816 - Power Steering Sensor (G250): Open or Short to Plus

AND it still show me same result even i change NEW  parts (SMI Koyo  indclude wire/sensor).

My car dosent have esp (i hear somewhere if i have esp then i shud do some things before i get fault code off etc..)

So any Tips what i chek next?  When i remove old one off everything looks normal to me  ( in rack there wasnt water and steering pump looks normal (dry) ) and this  steering pump (J500) its not covered any foam ****.

Thx to all of you how can help me :) !

Ouh few thing moore....

When i chek these  mesure blocks  1/2/3

everthing seems normal

Voltages was okey
Pump rpm was okey
G250 was correct.
AMP was okey if i turn steering i get maximum amps was about 50-60 AMPS
and all so when i turn steering it show how fast i do it.

But still i it dosent work right and give this 00816 - Power Steering Sensor (G250): Open or Short to Plus code...
