Air pipe bracket sheared

Featured Replies

Hi,

First, thank you to everyone on here, the information you've all posted has been worth a mint. Certainly persuaded me to buy my Fabia VRS!

So, I recently noticed new a rattling noise when accelerating hard in 4th, 5th or 6th gears between 2000 and 3000 rpm. After a good hunt around the engine bay I found that a bracket holding the air intake in place had sheared. The actual bracket is welded onto the air pipe and bolted to the engine block. Has anyone got experience with this? I couldn't find any other posts relating to this problem.

The car's still under warranty (12 months on a used car from a Skoda dealer), this should certainly be covered. Does anyone have a link to the warranty details? I don't live near the dealer where the car was bought and I know the local dealer will give me grief. I'd like to have something to wave at him to persuade him that he's got to fix it, regardless of where I bought the car.

TIA!

Terrapin
