A very 'Special Detail'..........

Quick one for you - which foam attachment do you use? I notice you don't use a Karcher but is it compatible? I use the std Karcher foam attachment and don't get half the foam you do! It's not as thick either.

Cheers,

Steve

Yeah, I'd be interested to know as well. Sure, I'm not using Snow Foam but the stuff I get out of mine is, er, completely pants and it seems to empty the bottle in about thirty seconds...

I am using the Elite Heavy Duty Foam lance which I have modified to fit the Powercraft pressure washer and I have been very happy with it..........:D

Powercraft is a re-branded Karcher but be careful as the lance fitments are different.......

Are you diluting the snow foam in your lance?

Great job done there.......

Why did you use megs apc on the wheels and not megs wheel brightener? Just curious.

Thanks for the comment......

The wheel faces on the M3 are diamond cut and from experience the dilution ratio I have for Megs Wheel Brightner is very harsh so I went with the Megs APC as it's safer, didn't want to ruin these lovely wheels..........

Just as a side not I use Megs APC on my polished wheels as well, nice and safe.......

Excellent results as ever Mr Baker, that car was in a state when it came in!

Using an M3 cabrio as a daily indeed... as you do!

Thanks mate, it was a state and I know if I owned something like this it would be loving cared for........:D

You wait until you see the Ferrari I have for this week, it is a beast!!!!

Nice one - I might make another Elite purchase then :)

I've tried it a few ways, undiluted, 50/50 with warm water, and 50/50 with a few different types of shampoo. Didn't really seem to make too much difference to the foam output whatever I did, so came to the conclusion that it might be the Karcher attachment itself.

Mention me if you do then.........:D

Well I just fill about an inch of snow foam in the bottom and then go for it, all dependant on car size of course but it strips off most of the dirt ready for the rest of the detail process, although I don't use the snow foam on my own car.......

Excellent - should slow down my use of the Snow Foam then, if you're only using that amount each time

How come you don't use it yourself then? Any reason?

Cheers,

Steve

You don't need a lot to achieve good coverage........I purchased 4 x 5 litres of Snow Foam from a recent GB and I am still using my orginal 5 litres I bought from Elite months ago..........

The thing I find with the Snow Foam is that it's a bit of a toy, I mean for doing details it's great to get lots of dirt off the car, rubber's, arches, etc but if you have done this once on your own car, corrected it, then use the 2BM everytime there is no need for it?

I have found that you have to be careful with it as it's pretty strong stuff and will rip through some waxes, hence why I don't use it on the Superb, not need for it.......:)

Got a friends M3 in a fortnight, but had a look yesterday when he picked up his girls Cooper S and the wheels look fairly poor. Should I just use my APC at 4:1 on them? Any other hints for them? If I can get them as good as possible, that would impress. He's even speaking of getting them re-done. Thanks.

Sounds like you have some nice motors to do already mate...........

I would suggest that you invest in some Megs Wheel Brightner as Megs APC isn't strong enough on most occasions...........:thumbdwn:
