Correct!.. thats our way, throw as much power at SQL as possible.. then bottleneck it by using DAS storage

I've got about 8 8 way boxes each with 8GB that would add a lot if I could be bothered with folding.

Even with the SMP client running on that, you still wouldn't get the same PPD as a single 280GTX. Graphics cards and PS3s are the folding superstars at the moment.
