aha ! just checked skoda website and its 49.something

Must have been a missprint

35.8 mpg is the correct published Skoda economy.

Only thing is, its the URBAN economy figure, conventionally COMBINED is used if only one figure is quoted.

URBAN 35.8 mpg

EXTRA URBAN 57.6 mpg

COMBINED 47.1 mpg

ON my PD170 i usually get 44-46 MPG on back roads to work, but on the main roads from Cork to Limerick i'd easy get the 50MPG. If i get over the 500 mile per tank i'm happy out. Saying that my PD150 Golf was the best for MPG i think out of all the cars i had.

Diesel in Cork now 126.9 Euro - Finally coming down and petrol only a penny cheaper.

That combined figure seems close to mine 45 to 47 on round town,

I get 50 ish on motorways.

But Ive only done 3000 miles so far and my 2.0 PD 140 got 4 to 6 mpg better after 10000 miles

my sub 700 mile vrs tdi cr dsg estate, recently managed on a 4 hour trip to the west country- 49.8 mpg. On a regular 10 mile trip, from cold, to work it is averaging 46 mpg- suites me.

What's the standard tyre?

Mine has covered about 700 miles now and is the estate...

It managed 52 on a 30 mile A road round trip in moving traffic (so it wasn't stop start but I didn't get any overtakes in!)...

Its managed 46 on the motorway with cruise set at a bit (!!) more than 70...

And it manages 41 on the way to work from cold (10 miles) and 44 on the way home from work (presumably when the ambient temp. is a bit higher!!!).

last tank was 47.5mpg.. and that was mixed driving with plenty of urban in it. And I'm driving w/dsg..

Ive just got 2500 miles on my VRS CR TDi - on a 400 round trip from Canterbury to Bristol and Back I got 54.4mpg sitting at 80.

However, start to rag it and it drops hugely very quickly!

It definatly gets slightly better when the engine runs in.

Got 50mpg today on the way to the airport. Wasn't hanging around, bit of overtaking. Hope the mrs drove it home carefully

This morning my PD170 averaged 34mpg, 76mph, 84 miles on highway with lots of corners and hills (and often WOT).

Over 19000 miles I have averaged 49.2 mpg calculated by miles on odometer and fuel put into tank. The best tank full has been 54.2 mpg which included a crossing from the west of Ireland to Dublin with mind in neutral. People say I sometimes drive too fast. I feel I have driven way too fast if the computer mpg meter gets down to 40. I've owned other VAG diesels which have delivered up to 10% better economy but I wouldn't go back having owned one of these.
