Strong glass-cleaner

Featured Replies

Whats a good powerful glass cleaner to use... i have faint lines and residue show up where stickers were stuck to the windows when it was brand new and greasy fingerprints too  .. they only show up when cleaning the windows but window-cleaner stuff doesnt get rid of it..

megs nxt, or their concentrated glass cleaner is pretty good, or you could try vinegar in water and an old newspaper for a quick cheap try.

Megs for the win.

For the sticky backing on stickers use nail polish remover, it dissolves the residue then clean with Auto glym glass cleaner.

Works 4 me.

You can use WD40 to remove the residue also.

Deff agree with Autoglym Glass Cleaner or Glass Polish.

Col - I've got some Stoners Invisible Glass cleaner that I brought back from the States.

I'm around tmrw if you want to give that a try.

I had to use clay on Katie's old Clio to get rid of tree sap of the glass - maybe thats also worth a try if the marks are really stubborn.

Another vote for Megs NXT.

Also heard good thing about Stoners, but I haven't tried it.

Aye.. that would be good.. ive made a proper balls up of my window cleaning attempts and its making the auto-wipers stay on too long because of the smearing :o

Any solvent to remove the glue residue similar to white spirit/IPA/WD40 But WD is a bit oily for it. And any ingrained marks I always like to clay my windows its simply amazimg how much crap comes off them even though they look clean.

In extreme circumstances you can use metal polish similar to Autosol/NXT Metal polish which works very well on glass with a very fine cutting action.
