2009 Model Year?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know whether there will be any changes to the Fabia for the new model year? If so, any idea when they will come in?

It seems to me that they may very well benefit from doing something to encourage sales at this time of tight credit - my personal wish list is as follows:

1. Sports seats as an (cost-) option on any model across the range.

2. Sportier suspension as an option - lowered slightly with increased damping.

3. Greenline tweaks as a (no-cost?) option across the range.

4. Boot floor in estate changed with a dummy floor to remove lip by door and hump caused by seats when they are folded. ie flat load floor.

Hi

interesting questions. By January next year the new Fabia will be about 18 months old so I guess a few tweaks may be possible. Regarding your wish list, i think 1 would be popular as the seats are just about the only interior "Sport" feature you can't add to a 2 or 3 spec. I think I've heard that on the continent sport seats are an option (and maybe some countries don't have the Sport variant, just the options. Not sure about that.)

2. Greenline style slightly lowered suspension is now an option, but I suspect it's not "sporty" as such

4. I've seen reference on a brokers site to a raised boot floor as a no-cost option.

The new brochure should be out in a week or so, so may be a few options in there!

I think it can only be a matter of time till a new 1.6 diesel (which will start to be introduced to some new VW models quite soon) replaces the 1.9 and perhaps others. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 1.4 TSI 120 bhp(now in the Superb) replace the 1.6, though may be considered to costly. Some of the Fabia's competitors have broadly equivalent low capacity, low emission but fairly powerful engines.

The only thing I know of is a new colour called mint green metallic which is like a very light silvery green colour and really suits the car.

That's really going to increase sales!!

There will be a slight price increase on the Fabia Sport models which will now have -15mm lower suspension as standard.

6CD vw style slot in disc changer underneath the glovebox as a no cost option
