Noticed recently that my gears on my 1.9TDI are not smooth like they were and when I try the gears when the engine is off I find it difficult to get into fifth gear.Taking the car in for a service next month and the warranty ends in November, could it just need oiling?.

The car is nearly four years old and as 26500 on the clock.

it may well br the nylon bushes on the shift shaft mechanism, they sieze in and the gear cables aint strong enough th free them up, a quick removal, rub down and lube will sort that out a treat matey!!

I've just bought a Fabia and noticed a slight notchiness in the gear change (excellent car BTW). It's not a problem as such but is it an expensive fix?
