petrol DSG - what can i try

Featured Replies

ok so its going to be impossilbe to find a superb 1.8TSi DSG to drive for ages yet. what else can i drive with the same engine / box. i dont think there is anything out there ? i can find the golf GTi with a dsg but that is the 2.0T no the 1.8T. anyone got any ideas ?

You could try a Golf Gt, I know it is the 1.4, butthey make 170ish, the Skoda is 160ish

The obvious one is the Audi A3 1.8TFSI 160 S-Tronic.

It's nowhere near as heavy as the Superb, but it will let you try the engine and gearbox combination. As far as I'm aware, the A3 is the only other car in the VAG group that uses the 7-speed DSG (Audi call it S-Tronic).

The A4 also uses the 1.8 engine, but doesn't have a DSG option, only a normal automatic.

actually the A4 uses the CVT multitronic option so not quite a "normal" automatic !! (unless you get the quattro then you get a tiptronic box)

Claybank Manchester are getting a 1.8 DSG demonstrator in about 3 weeks time if it's of any help.
