Glaze and sealant application

Featured Replies

I've got a big detail day on tomorrow. Might be the last chance I get for reasonable weather!

I'll be applying Klasse All-in-One sealant, followed by Poorboy's Black Hole glaze. The glaze is a new step for me. I've previously always applied sealant by hand, and would imagine glaze application is the same.

But does anyone apply either/both of these by machine? I have a PC.

Cheers,

Steve

Haven't used the Klasse products mate but my mate has the Black Hole and I have used it before, works well by hand but then I only ever use machines to correct the paintwork, much prefer using the applicator pads to apply other products.............

Look forward to seeing your results tomorrow...............:P

(Flying solo on a BMW E36 M3 at the moment and need to finish it off tomorrow.)

Cheers  - I end up doing both by hand and looking good so far....

Ran out of time at sealant, returning to wax stage(s) in a few hours :D

Going with 476 and Blackfire Midnight for waxes this time round. Might go for two coats of 476, then apply the Midnight another time, once the Collinite has had time to cure. Can't decide though! Thoughts?

There will be, once I've sorted through them :)

Will post them up in my Member Cars thread later....

You got some new wheels on the scene as well mate?

  • Author

Yes, I've changed from the Montreals. You'll see them in the pics as well :)

Another set picked from elsewhere in the VAG stable

Cheers,

Steve

I apply sealant by machine on speed 3 on the pc. as it doesnt need to break down and significantly reduces the effort needed.

I find if you dont use the pc, the product dries too quick and the finish is lessened.

Just my own experience.

Keep up the good work, remember to load your pics:thumbup:

Thanks for the advice - I didn't have any problem applying the Black Hole by hand as it happened, but maybe the result would have been even better by machine. Maybe next time :)

I've popped a fair few pics in my Members Car thread now, should you want to have a gander....

As it's in Freedom (and I'm not as yet) I can't post in your thread... but it's looking good

Really like the Octy Spiders bestest :)

Really, I thought anyone could post replies to threads and it was only Freedomers who could create threads

Either way, a good resolution would be for you to join Freedom ;)

Steve

P.S. And they're not Spiders on there :D - they're Speedline Corse, spotted in the Ibiza accessories catalogue...

Serious note though, it wouldn't seem to let me post. Yes, I'll join soon enough. MOT to pay for first!

I don't have any Spiders though :D

Do you mean when I used to have them? They're your favourite wheels of the ones I've ran? Is that what you're getting at? :P

Yeah, that's that I meant.

You expect me to be able to explain myself properly? Come on, I'm a man!
