53 plate Fabia Comfort Brake Problem

Featured Replies

I found on this site something about the servo or vacume pipes leaking and having an effect on the breaking system but on the Superb.

Happened to me today in my Fabia which I brought about 2 weeks ago. Pressed on the brakes pulling into a parking space (at low speed ofcourse) and there was nothing, tryed pumping it and still nothing, by the time i got the handbrake up I hit the curb and pole in front of me. Lower bumper caved in, fogs not working and part of the radiator bracket snapped.

The break pedal was quite stiff, and made a thumping feeling, like it was just rubbing the break disk? Quite similar to driving over a cats eye in the road.

Anyone had similar problems? Who should pay for the repair, me or Skoda? Is it covered by any warrenty? I've been driving it reasonably trouble free before this, it has happened before at low speed when I slowed down for a Zebra crossing, lucky I didnt hit the kids!

Thanks, Thom.
