crikey - if you google "DE module" and select to return pages form teh UK only then this thread comes out top of google and then nowt much else of any use !!!

it shall remain a mystery me thinks !!

nothing amazing then. got these on my 6 year old A6 !!

at leat the mystery is now solved !

DE stands for dreiachsiger ellipsoid = triple axle ellipsoid

It is the headlightunit with a lense instead of a mirror.

nah "halogen headlight with DE module" could be replaced with "halogen headlights with EL module" ie make it english and not german !!!

because the rest of the car description for the Uk market is in ENGLISH so it doesnt make sense to have one small element of the car spec using a german abbreviation. i am sure EDL or ESP or ABS have equivalent german descriptions but they dont use them !!

As far as I know, DE is a development from the german firm Hella :D

Not much difference from them using the PD term for their deisel technology.

if something has a name it has a name much the same as DVD's are DVD's all over the world :rolleyes:
