facelift superb 140 bhp

Featured Replies

i dont know if its me and my imagination, but everytime i put the ASR button on, the car feels more taut....especially on the ride and as the car goes over bumps and dips, the suspension seems in my opinion to feel stiffer.

And when i switch it off the car seems to revert back to a softer setting.

Can anyone out there shed any light? or is it me imagining it?icon7.gif

Is it ASR OFF or ESP OFF?

My point - doesn't the ESP OFF switch off more than just traction control?

i switch on the ASR button.......and a yellow triangle appears on the right hand instrument dial......i dont have ESP....but being the facelift i was wondering if they tweaked the model?

Hmm, odd. The ASR button is only supposed to switch off the traction control.

How strange!

The yellow light is telling you the ASR is off. The ASR system is always on by default.

ESP is an upgrade to the ASR system and as such is an optional extra.

Yeah, that's right. I was more musing about ESP having a possible effect on damping, however unlikely that may seem.

Surely the only OE dampers that "adjust" their damping on the fly are those fancy pants fitted to the newer Audi TT...?

Unless Koni FSD's have developed significantly since I last looked at them...

I have ESP on mine and defeating it makes not a jot of difference to the handling...AFAICT anyway!

So, I guess that's the answer from both sides of the fence!

Placebo, anyone? :P

hi thanks for all your replies......think im going to have to read the handbook thouroughly...as i thought when you press the ASR button and the light comes up on the speedometer side of the instrument panel, i thought it was switched on !!

the main thing i sense is the suspension does feel a little more firmer when the light is on, than when it is with the light is off, although the switch one presses doesnt light up permanently.....thanks again for all of your correspondance...regards......skodanut

is it possible that esp is on my car ? as i dont have the esp button to press?

No.

If you've got ESP the button would say ESP OFF instead of ASR OFF.
