Comparison sites arent all that

Featured Replies

Well not if you have factory fitted mods, or the car is a personal lease as we have.

And after fudging the system, all the quotes have stupid excesses and dont have the level of cover I currently enjoy. Certainly no where near the renewal either - cheapest was another £150 dearer.

Looks like I'm reneweing with Bell for the 3rd year running (last year was laziness as during our move)....

These sites really are about scamming the people who simply dont have the time or desire to talk to 18 regional indian dialects repeating the same thing.

Don't forget that Direct line and a few others don't come up in comparison sites...so it may be worth either going to their site or giving them a ring

another thing to remember is that most of the comparison sites are run by the insurers themselves.

Confused.com is owned by Admiral (elphant, sheilas wheels, bell)

Tesco compare is owned partly by Tesco and partly by RBOS (Direct line, churchill, privedge, diamond)

I think the company that runs Esure runs one too.

I haven't found a company yet that can compare with Elephant and Direct Line for the quotes. You usually have to ring them up aswell, even if they have sent you a renewal quote, as they will beat it over the phone.

I was with Elephant for 4 years. When it came to renew this year, they were £200 off of the best quote I found, and I even got that down by a further £50 by using Chris Knott.
