What can be done to a 105 TDi PD

Featured Replies

After checking loads of posts there seems very little info on what can be done to the 105 TDi PD

Firstly where there any recalls for software up dates, or any other things that should have been done or changed

Bigger turbo, 6 speed box, bigger injectors, FMIC, Exhaust and a remap should see you good for a lot of power.

Upgrade the brakes (not cheap) and add an LSD ;)

The PD105 will most likely have software updates, but your dealer will know if your car is running the latest software for it.

.

As mines out of warranty I will have to pay them for checking, but I am getting the belts and water pump changed next week at my local Seat dealer (cheaper than the Skoda one:)) so could they check as well

The only one i know of at the moment is for the engine stutter at 2000rpm on 1.9,s.I will be getting mine done at the dealer when i have the DMF done.

Is there anything that can be done or check regarding oil use I have use a ltr and have only done 9k since a full service now done 73k

My superb never used any between services and still doesn't at 290k

Some people are using about 1 litre every 10K on 1.9 and 2.0TDi,s and was told that it seems to be normal.

Did you learn anything you did not know already

Not a thing new no.Just 9 weeks of boring talk and tests:rofl:

1L of oil per 9k is nothing special.

XUD's could use a bit between the 5-6k services, maybe 1/2 a L so it's no worse than that.

was worried about that as the 130 1.9 pd uses none

If your car has full service records with authorized Skoda dealers you are entitled to receiving everything that needs to be done to the car per the TSB's free of charge.

Its has a full dsh buts whats a tsb (apart from a bank in Scotland) lol

So any VW seat Skoda dealer could check if everything is done, my stream radio sometimes gives off a loud bang every now and then

can all of this be done even though out of warranty:confused:

Technical service bulletin. The way the Skoda mother ship lets each dealer know what they should do to a car the next time they catch it in.

For the radio giving (loud) popping sounds when you turn it on (or was it off?) there is 100% sure one such TSB saying that your car radio gets a free new firmware.

When I remap a 105hp TDi I normally make 140hp and 320-330nm without visible smoke and at 1.2 bars. It is possible to get app. 155hp and 370nm, but it will be harder for the turbo. With a bigger turbo capable of 1.5 bars it should be possible to make close to 400nm and 170hp. Injectors, IC and gearbox can handle this power without any problems.

Yes but the 6 speed box is stronger and you get an extra gear.

The injectors will let you flow more and the FMIC means you don't get heat soak as you do with the standard SMIC.

That would mean you could get good power with less boost, or more power.

Devonutopia is putting out almost 300bhp iirc from a PD130 engine.

the FMIC means you don't get heat soak as you do with the standard SMIC.

But the PD105 comes with an FMIC.

Does it?

According to Lummox it has. Can't say that I've ever actually looked.

Fair enough, that's one less thing to worry about then :)

Its just like a huge radiator stuck to the front of the main radiator, can see the principle behind the heatsoak theory.

As its basically touching the radiator, in my eyes its fookin huge.......and wouldn't flow as efficiently as a smaller deeper core. But i maybe wrong?

I thought the IC was an integral part of the main radiator

The main rad then in front of it is the air conditioning condensor. Does the PD105 have another one too then?

Pass, id forgotten about the air con condensor.
