Hi, I bought my vRS a few months ago and i am the 3rd owner. The 1st owner had it serviced at their Skoda dealer at all the relevant intervals up to 50,000 miles.

The 2nd owner however (supposedly) did their own 60,000 4yr service - including cambelt. On speaking to the last owner it turns out he only changed the belt and not the tensioners etc :thumbdwn:, so i am treating it as though 60,000mile/4yr service never happened.

The car is now at 66,000miles but i'm going to get it serviced at the end of this month but due to the unknown nature of the last service i'm not sure what service i now need....... I will be getting the belt and tensioners done again though to be safe, along with the water pump. What else am i looking at, brake fluid change maybe?

The 60k is an inspection service, so its an oil and filter and a look over. CAn always check the pollen filter see if that looks like its been done.

I'd do that and the belt etc if the history is a bit doubtful.

i thought tensioners were only done on cam chains?

nope, they should always be replaced along with the belt, its pikey not to
