Hi, I have done a search and couldn't really find anything speificlly related to my problem . . .

Anyway I have a 2001 1.4 16v Fabia and have had a few problems with the gearbox. I don't no if this is a common problem, but when going into 5th there is a little notch like thing on the right side of the box that the lever gets stuck on.

The other bigger problem is that when going into 3rd it sometimes jams. You can push the lever all the way forward until it won't go any further, so I let the clutch out. As soon as I do that the gear bounces around in between neutral and 3rd. It doesn't do it all the time and when I change gear slowly you can feel it catching as it goes into 3rd. I have shown my dad and he wondered if it is a linkage issue. Also it 'clunks' when you let of the throttle appruplty and I wondered if this was linked.

If anyone can shed any light on weather these two are related or what the problem might be and how to solve it (under dealer warranty for another month) I'd be grateful.

Sounds like a linkage issue and/or a loose or broken engine/gearbox mount.
