Scratch X

Featured Replies

My son commented the other day that my black fabias bonnet was all scratched

and on closer inspection it was coverd in swirl marks.

On the weekend i dug out an old tube of scratch x from the shed and gave my bonnet a good seeing to with it,followed by a wax and a sealer

Now the car is totally swirl free(the bonnet is anyway)

I am exceptionally pleased with the way that scratch x has performed

has anyone else had good results when using it?

Oh

The point of the post

A big thumbs up for scatch x:thumbup:

You should AG SRP which is brilliant stuff. Check the link out where someone did a test on lost of different products and SRP came out on top

** Swirl Removal By Hand - Test ** - Detailing World

Interesting stuff as AG comes up best. Most people slate it.

Most people apply it too thick in one go so it's dusts up badly. If you apply it correctly and just want filling rather than correction it does a really good job, albeit with a bit of effort required.

SRP/EGP/Colli 476s is quite a popular combination.

That's interesting... I'm fairly happy with the AG stuff although admittedly I do use the B03 fine abrasive from the bodyshop range before SRP (which in turn only goes on thinly) so perhaps this is why.

Still, I was wondering about Colli over the top of EGP, so thanks for pointing that out.

I've used it twice ( Scratch X ) and found on the second time, use a light covering and it comes up a treat

If you do that leave the EGP to cure overnight then give the car a wash if needed and put a layer of colli 476s on as per the instructions. Apply a second coat of 476s either a few hours later or run the car for a week, wash it properly and put a second layer of 476s on after that.

Means you get protection that should last you through the worst of the winter.

Scratch X is rather good but its a sod to remove.

As in with that much protection it would stop a hail of bullets...

Sorry :o

It's ok, you just had me confused.

To be fair that much protection seems to have lasted 9 months, which is always handy when you don't have the time or a garage in the winter.
