cd error...

Featured Replies

Hmm, could be the heat I suppose, but my standard CD changer in the Fabia vRS keeps given error on disc 3 and 4, across a range of CDs that play OK in the slot load on the dash.

Any clues as to why (obviously a warranty thing at soon to be done service but pointers welcome)

Probably a fault with the multichanger.

Does the changer load the CD's? Or does nothing happen at all?

Might be worth disconnecting the changer an reconnecting it, a reboot if you like, works sometimes.

I have the same problem with one Cd only. Where as it works fine in the single slot.

Sometimes the changer picks it up sometimes it doesn't.

The Cd is, dare I say it, Will Youngs Fridays Child, which I personally think is a very good album.

I'm waiting for the comments now.

I have the Velvet Revolver album and it won't play at all in the Octy but is fine in the Furby.

could be a problem with copy protected CD's

Or Fabias have more musical taste than their owners

Yep -some of these are a real pain.

Also, are they originals or cd-r's? I get a lot of problems with them. I also used to get trouble with condensation on CD's in my Galant.

I'd try a CD cleaner first.....

Will give that a try, thanks. It loads the CD as I can hear it clicking/whirring, then gives a bleep and 'CD error' on the HU and moves onto to try the next CD.

It's only discs loaded into slots 3 and 4 which appear to be are dodgy, swap them around in the multichanger holder, or put them into the front slot to play them and they're fine.

Odd innit! I haven't done anything to it other than use it, so wonder what can go wrong - probably some alignment. *thinks* must have a look at how these changer things work

BTW all the CDs I've been listening to have the offical approved CD logo either on them or their packaging, so are not copy protected. (These systems are an infringement of the IEC 908/red book standard for CDs, so therefore are not allowed to use the CD logo anywhere - see http://www.gnscd.com/cdlogo.htm for what it all looks like.) Thanks for that tip though.

ahem... [cough] Well, I guess with BBC Radio Devon being forced upon me at work, Will Young features a lot, and it ain't that bad. Better than any hip-hop, rap or RnB any day! I currently have Avril Lavignes new one going, and when its downloaded, I mean bought, I'll have the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Hyde Park gig too. "give it away, give it away, give it away, give it away now" :speaker:

Thanks, most people slag off the album without even listening to it, however my musical preference is Jazz Funk, Roy Ayers, Dennis Taylor (not the snooker player) and co.

So I'm not that bad.
