OH MY GOD, wha's he done now!?

Basically last night I went to fit my new MTX grills to my new subs... And thats when I spotted the rather plan looking grey cardboard type ring around the outside... So, something had to be done. Piccie to show what I mean. :thumbdwn:

So, I had a rummage in the garage and stumbled across an ancient tin of poppy red gloss - quick stir and it was as good as new and then half an hour with that paint and an airfix modelling type paintbrush I had the following... :eek:

First thoughts were the red (after more than one coat) would complement the pink/red rubber of the speakers... But I actually thought they looked more like a pair of breasts, so had another rummage in the garage... After some stumbling I found a tin of black gloss and figured thats the only way to cover up the red (which proved to be a good undercoat anyway) so now the subs look like this:

All in all a good portion of the evening spent having fun with paint, and not even a slight bit of numptiness - no spills, no paint where it shouldn't be, and all in all, an improvement in appearance over how I bought the subs. Me is quite happy now. All thats left is to possibly add another coat of black tonight, or just touch up, then reglue them and add the grills.

But I actually thought they looked more like a pair of breasts, so had another rummage in the garage...

I was thinking the same thing, surely they are meant to stick out rather than in.
