Also Michelin quote an 'inexperienced driver' would have problems noticing a slide & feeling the difference, I'm no expert but a professional driver for over 30 years with 5 years of motorsport for fun as well so there is a possibility I don't fall into the 'inexperienced' category!

I'd still rather have my new tyres on the front where the car steers & does most of its braking, just my choice & not necessarily right or wrong!

The Michelin article is interesting, so thanks for the link... but I'm not convinced it'll make a jot of difference.

In other words, I don't think there's a right or a wrong answer... the only time I've had issues is when I had different compounds front and rear. But that's another story, as they say.

I don't believe it makes a great deal of difference either, not compared with having the back tyres on a near dry road when you're braking in a straight line, which good fronts will do.
