Driver's Door Removal

Featured Replies

Hi all,

So I had the rear electric window fall into the door a few weeks ago and managed to get the door off fine and prop it up. Have slightly erratic central locking (sometimes locks all doors sometimes only the drivers) so decided to take off the drivers door panel and WD40 its ***.

Only problem is that I couldnt get the damn thing off!! Removed all the torx's all around the door and the screw behind the door handle. I presume that underneath the panel that holds all the elec window switches etc there is another screw that I need to remove? How do I get that panel off? I tried pulling it off but it felt like it would snap and i gave it plenty of force!

Any ideas?

The search button is your very good friend, try entering DOOR PANEL REMOVAL OCTAVIA, and in that thread is a post by RoyClubley showing you , in picture form, just how to do it..

Lever the panel off (you need to prise off the grip first).

The three big screws are behind/under the panel.

its a bit of a b*&^% to get off really! but once the grip piece popped out its not too bad :D
