Got NICE comps, scared about fitting...

Featured Replies

... Just received possibly the nicest looking set of front component speakers I could afford. They're Infinity Kappa 5.1 5.25" ones. Look the daddy, but there's SO MANY bits in there. :( How the hell I'm gonna do this I DO NOT KNOW, and reckon I may just dent the wallet and get the help of a local ICE shop with fitting.

Hopefully worth it in the long run. ;) I'm off to print out Xavier's thread to try and generate some DIY enthusiasm!

i had of read of Xaviers guide before i fitted mine. Very helpfull indeed. Infinity Kappa's should sound nice. Will have to have a listern at Traxs.

Why did you have to mention TRAX? :P That's putting the bloody pressure on isn't it!

What part of the female anatomy do these resemble? :D

Well - putting the two woofers next to each other looks remarkably like a pair of pale buttocks! - must be female as they perfectly formed and very pert!

Oi!! I'd have thought that being one year older would have made you more mature! :P

The speakers do look rather sexy sat upright in their polystyrene casing in the box! Piccies tonight I expect!

I'm in Devon mate :( What about on the weekend of 4/5 Sept as I'm up in the Leicester area. ;) But I really want these in well before TRAX, not the day before. I can see this is gonna be a lot of fun!

If these are the Infinity kappa Perfect 5.1 then I very much doubt they will fit in the Fabia!!! They are pretty deep (I've got a set in my other car - my Focus has 6.1s), and the crossovers are also huge !!

They sound wicked, but you MUST use an amplifier... I run 100w RMS through them and they'll still take more. Did have 50w RMS per side but it wasn't enough

Please let me know if you managed to fit them

Andy

Time to do some door builds Jason.

Andy - I will MAKE them fit if I have to! If it means hacking up the door card, allowing the speaker to protrude into the car, I will do just that - got spare door cards anyway!

And they're being powered by a Rockford Punch amp in the boot, so no worries in that department - should be putting close to 80/90W RMS to them, which is OK.

I noticed they were bloody deep, but literally - once they bolted in, I assume its only the door card which is gonna have trouble going back, right?

:D I'm glad I got a good speaker though!
