now ive just got to fit it the other way up :P

To stop my turbo hose popping off by the intercooler I did this:

a) Put a plastic tie loosely around 1) the intercooler and 2) the turbo boost pipe that joins it at a right angle

B) Put a plastic tie top and bottom between the two.

c) Tightened up the plastic ties mentioned in point a)

d) Tightened up the plastic ties mentioned in point B)

Hi

If these pipes come off the intercooler on MK1 vRS Octavia 1.8T, do you get a hissing sound coming through far right of dash when engine is on boost ?

My car has stopped giving that nice whistle and now hisses and whooshes as if gas is escaping.

Any ideas guys. Thanks Ian

FWIW, when mine went, it was because part the rim around the end of the hose had sheared off, so it wasn't secure inside the rubber boot thing where it connects to the intercooler. A new hose wasn't cheap, though...

this method did not work for me as it still blew the pipes off so i put 2 self tappers through both ends of the pipes and this worked and i have now ordered top and bottom silicon pipes

edit-i had to send the silicon pipe kit back firstly the top hose was ok but the bottom hose was only a small corner piece and the corner did not fit and the kit price was £225

Use mikalor clamps. Would look much neater than an exhust clamp
