Where is the horn located?

Featured Replies

Where is the horn located on a Octavia -99?

I´m going to inspection tomorrow and the horn suddently failed on me. I can hear the relay click when I press the horn button but nothing happens under the hood. Is it beneath the battery, or somewhere in the inner fenders? If so, which side?

thanks in advance.

On the Fabia, you can access it by pulling off the LHS foglamp surround...

on my vRS it's behind the nearside of the front bumper.

You can't access it from the engine bay, easiest way is to remove the bumper I'd say. Sounds daunting, but taking the bumper off is proper easy.

As far as I remember there are 2 horns too....

Remove the big bolt to remove the horn, and disconnect the plug obviously. I removed the horn to get access to the radiator mounts. I would think it's the same on your car....?

Sure it's not the fuse?

If not, you might get enough access to test the feed, if not replace the horn itself, by taking off the LH side grille.

Thanks. You guys made my day :) Now I don´t have to spend time locating it tonight after work (in the dark).

The fuse is checked. It´s not broken. And I can hear the relay work.
