50K service - what needs doing?

Featured Replies

This is a classic situation of "can't be arsed to walk out to the car and read my handbook" BUT, I've gone and bought a fuel & oil filter for my upcoming self-service at 50K (which I passed this morning) and something in my mind is telling me I may not need to! Is the 50K one just an oil change? Cuz why would the 20K and 40K services be more money at my dealer than the 10K,30K,50K if they involved the same work...? Have I just bought two filters 10,000 miles too early?

No harm in changing either. An "oil change" ALWAYS includes the filter, anyway.

Now go and get your handbook and read all the other things you're supposed to do :D

And I was just out in the motor... forgot all about this.

50 k service is just an oil and oil filter change.

So I should just keep the fuel filter for later... Well - it was cheaper than normal anyway so no loss there... but... must... clean..... cotton filter!

 Ross!
