Dual Mass Flywheel or Solid Flywheel??

Featured Replies

Hi

I need to replace the clutch on my Octavia VRS MK 1. It is running around 220bhp and clutch is slipping so needs replacing. Can anyone suggest which is better dual mass flywheel or solid flywheel? I have been offered both as kits from Euro Car Parts but no-one can seem to tell me which is best for the car?!

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

well both will handle the power, duel mass for smoothness, normal for life expectancy

Ive gone for the solid flywheel, only time will tell if the right choice.

Thanks for the reply.

Solid is def the right choice. Dual mass is the worst modern invention on any car!

any evidence to back this up? I seem to be in the same position as the first poster, but can't find evidence for which is the better, single solid fly wheel seems to be cheapest option?

We do a full clutch kit for £275 + VAT and that includes the single mass solid flywheel

So, back to the original question, should be be looking at going for single mass solid or dual mass again,

Eurocarparts come in at 175+vat for the solid flywheel and clutch, but if I want the dualmass flywheel and a new kit it would be £290 + VAT I think... obviously single mass cheap here, think they said they were "Sach" parts...
