confused reviewer...

Featured Replies

look at this summary from a review in the telgraph. do you think the reviewer is a bit confused about the twindoor ??:D

We like: Fine riding, luxurious and well appointed saloon, with some nice detailing. The hatchback/boot is a novel idea and works reasonably well.

We don't like: It's not that pretty, the rear headroom is a bit limited for taller folk, the handling is stodgy compared with an equivalent BMW and the hatchback is gimmicky and fiddly to operate.

That's reviewers for you. How they can call it fiddly, is beyond me. Perhaps they have fingers like jumbo sausages?

I have to say that I thought it might be a bit gimmicky, until I actually used it.

shame you cant leave it in "hatch" mode all the time so you can simply open it like the hatch on other cars.

hear hear - I would have thought it much better to have one button to always open as hatch, the other to always open as a boot.

I like the concept a lot, and think it will be useful, just dont like the "hit one button then the other" method of opening as a hatch.

as its electrically operated do you think there is the chance of someone working out how to re-program the system to allow this to happen ?

doubt it, as the reason you push the other button is so the locks engage to hold the boot in one piece, i imagine if they could have done it they would have. maybe its to do with the time the locks take to engage the hatch part?

surely when they developed it someone would have said, hang on guys if we have one button for hatch and the other for saloon, that would be more sensible?

is that the same guy who also said "hang on guys, if you can get 7 digit post codes with a £99 tom tom then superb buyers will feel a bit short changed when their £1400 system only does 5 digit postcodes" LOL

common sense, logic and car desigers are three phrases that do not necessarily go together.

and then there is the bloke that said "i know - lets put 18" wheels and skinny tyres on this luxury limo like saloon. they will ruin the ride but hey they will look really cool " !!!!

With the wheels you're right about the ride but a car the size of the Superb is going to look a) laughable and B) sh*te with 16" wheels.

bovered...am i bovered..?.:D

the overall diameter of the 16" wheels is the same as the 18" its just there is less alloy and more rubber !!

i dont care what my car looks like as when i am in it and experiencing the ride quality it will actaully be moving and no-one, least of all me, will be able to see the wheels. think function not appearance !!

sorry sir you cant come in this car park as your wheels look sh*te - i think not !!!

In that case why do VAG cars constantly come off the production line with some items disabled, these things can then be enabled with VAG-COM?

Its all a bit irrelevant to me anyway, as the times that i would need it to be a hatchback i will also require the seats to fold flat.
