For those of you who have looked, how much space is there behind the unit?

Could the radio be pushed back into the dashboard so I could disguise it with something like the front of a crappier unit? Any difference if mounted in the bay below (where the storage tray is?)

There's not much free space there. I had great difficulty fitting in a pop-out screen when I was working on my car PC. The bay below is similar.

You might just have room to do what you want though.

Any chance of a pic of the finished project?

I never finished it unfortunately - I had so many problems with the screen that I sent it back and pulled everything out
