What RPM does DSG (not in sports mode) tries to keep for sedate city driving? And on motorway cruise?

With my MT, I am able to drive comfortably even at near idle RPM. I would like to maintain the same RPM that a DSG computer attempts. I am assuming that will offer a good combination of economy and engine life.

i reckon about 1500-2500. with light accelarator usage and a flatish road 2->3->4->5 gear changes occur about 2000. below about 1400 the turbo isnt doing a lot

Must consider that driving below 1500 rpm will kill your DMF sooner!

Especially doing full throttle on low rpm.
