Please forgive me if I sound thick!!!

I've read many times on here about car parts being OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and that using them is understandably much cheaper than buying the same parts through the stealers. Just wondering where do you purchase such parts. Is there a single company who makes these OEM parts for skoda??? Just in case it differs from engine to engine mine is a 1.4 tdi 80 (estate). If naming companies is not allowed on this forum then I apologise in advance for breaking the rules.

I only recently heard about OEM parts but would obviously like to find out more because I'm a tight wad!!!

Thank you if you can help.

OEM parts are those made by the company that makes them for Skoda/VAG. The actual manufacturer varies according to the part: electrical parts will often be Bosch or Hella, clutches Sachs or LUK, brake pads Pagid, for example.

You can get them from lots of suppliers. Two of the largest are GSF and Euro Car Parts, they have branches nationwide. If you're a freedom member here I think you can get a discount at GSF.
