does anyone know if i was to buy a set of uprated brake discs and pads for a golf MK V GTI would they fit my octvia vrs MKII, same deal for a big brake conversion. i thought they might since the are very closely developed together and share some of their underpinnings

The front brakes for the MK V golf GTI fit onto a MK II with the 288mm set up if you get the MK V carriers, so yes the front brake discs and pads are the same on the Octy MK II VRS as the Golf MK V GTI.

IIRC from conversations with people on here the rear brakes are not the same though, so don't be buying those for your octy.
