devils own kit fitted

Featured Replies

got my d/o kit finished up today and i must say im quite impressed with the results :D

max torque comes in much sooner so

so far ive only tried it on halfrauds blue screenwash

tommorow i will try it with 50/50 water methanol and see what difference it makes

right now im off out for another drive

edit

added some before and after graphs

i will try and get another one done with a 50/50 mix but only if the roads are dry ..... maybe now its time for a remap ;)

is this kit a water spray kit?

no its a water methanol injection kit

it "sprays" the mix into the air intake pipework and cools the air charge

some more info can be gotten here

Thanks for that.

Still a fairly sharp drop from 2k rpm but hopefully a re-map will adjust that a bit for you, and it all comes in a bit earlier, which is good. :D

The late little spike in torque is now matched by a bhp spike at about 3.6k rpm and the torque delivery curve looks a tad more progressive.

Good work.

ok mate cheers for that.

it is a cheep nos kit? lol

sounds like you havin fun with it.

not to sure what happened at 3.K rmp but the roads were still a bit damp

(that was my third run) to be honest vag com is ok for a quick check but i need some time on a dyno .at least i will know how accurate the vag com method is

is it a cheap nos system ..basicaly yes its similar

looks like your'e happy with the results. The important thing also is that you don't get heatsoak at all. Engine will always be nippy...

Keep meaning to do a vagcom log myself. How did you do it so neatly mate? any tips?

Hmm, the MSDS doesn't cover it for that... :P

Nice work, there's a hefty difference in the graphs for a few hours work!

Be interesting to see where it goes from here...

Did some vagcom logging before and it was slightly optimistic.

Not fitted mine yet, hopefully by weekend. You say screenwash works in the absence of any real methonol?

@ basil im off work for a week from monday so i will put together a how to for the vagcom logs and graphs

@ shifty the screen wash seems to work ok. today i drained the tank and filled it with 50/50 w/m but it will be 08:30 on tuesday morning before it goes on the rollers at star performance;)

i now just need to start saving/working o/t to pay for a new clutch and flywheel:(

being a tight scotish git  i dont go to rolling roads at all plus it still gives you an indication of the amount of increase that any mods have been made

i never expected vagcom to be as acurate as a r/r if it was then i would expect every gaarage to have a set of free running rollers(or a long straight flat bit of road) and a copy of vagcom :P
