Differences between Fabia and Polo

Featured Replies

Hi there Chaps,

I am thinking of returning to my country of origin in near future. I have a fabululous Vrs Fabia which I want to take with me. The main problem is South Africa dont have a Skoda Dealer, and the closest parts centre I believe is in Kenya. For obvious reasons my concerns are availability of wear and tear parts.

Question: How simular are the VW Polo parts from that of the Fabia, ie running gear, hibs, brakes engine etc. I would certainly take the chance if 80% of the running gear parts are like those of the Polo, as they are available all over SA. I dont want to sell because its that good.

If any of your have an idea of above please let me know.

Regards

Ritchiec

VW Dealerships should be able to supply Skoda parts.

I'd say the VAST MAJORITY of bits / spares / etc are universal between the two cars - most share the same parts, have the same part number, and if you look at most parts they all have VW / Audi / Seat / Skoda emblems on them - from my experience of ripping a Fabia apart anyway! :D

Also, the dash of the facelifted city golf is more or less a modified to fit Fabia dash. It would be best to contact VW in SA.
