JUst a quick (and stupid) question but to double check... is there any reason I cant spray a strut brace? Keep the "cadburys" theme going on under the bonnet. Yes i know no-one will see it but I will know and it'll proper bug me if its the wrong colour.

Should be ok, I'm looking to do this to mine and figure that my bonnet gets as hot as the strut brace does, and the paint on the bonnet isn't affected! Go for it missp!

If its an alloy one make sure you paint it with a high etch primer first or the paint will just fall off!!!

I repainted my Seat one from Seat red into Skoda green.

Yeah if it's the Seat one then just give it a good few coates of spray paint to eventually give a good covering over the original red..... Probably not much of a problem if it's going to be purple. Mine being green it took a couple of cans of Hammerite smooth green which is a nearly 100% match for the Skoda green.

Don't forget to remove the Seat Sport sticker off it first or you'll see the outline of it through the purple paint.

I agree to that a nice cadbury purple, make sure to get some pics up MissP.

Don't forget that EVERYTHING needs prepping before its painted, if the paint is in good condition then some fine wet and dry (or even wire wool - used lightly) will key the paint ready for the new paint, any bear metal needs to be primed first.

Was easy to spray mine silver. I just ensured no lacquer was left on it and gave it about 3 coats of silver (skoda paint kit) Came out OK.

Lol - no I have ordered a range of purples off a website and will spray various bits of Lissy in all of them till I decide which one I like (yes I am crazy - u just cant see me twitching over the internet hehe) If you buy a box of cadburys roses, the purple on the wrappers is the best match to what I want. Not quite as dark as the dairy milk wrappers - not that I am fussy or 'owt. Dont u feel sorry for my other half
