superb 140 facelift

Featured Replies

having read threads on older superbs with water in the footwells, are the chances of my car getting the same problem in the years to come? or do you think skoda have done something about this problem? kind regards.andy:)

mine is a 56 plate facelift

They all do it. VAG don't give a toss, once the design is released. If Skoda screwdriver an old VAG design (Passat) together, they do it with all of the existing faults.

Nice people to do business with.

i'll wait till warranty expires then do as you guys suggest........clean holes and seal the pollen filter

I wouldn't leave it that long - clean the plenum and remove the bungs. Don't ever park under trees (especially in Autumn) and don't park in the rain with the nose up.

No - I have already taken my pollen filter out and sealed underneath the carrier, and I found the same foam rubbish seal that was on my other one. So facelift was about all they did - no repairing common faults!!

I agree.

It will leak, eventually... as SJ suggested, get it sealed!

170,000 miles in 18 months and i've never had this leaking problem! We have noticed on last service that the motor operating the flap below the pollen filter has failed. So now, do i replace it or you guys seem to be suggesting sealing this?

Advice welcome

That is a HELL of a lot of miles! that,s 2,300 odd a week!

The pollen filter thing will be something that happens over time as opposed to distance, it's just that the OE seal is... er... pants.

The motor could have failed due to water ingress, but while you/the garage are in there seal/get them to seal the bottom of the housing to the bulkhead with some Dum Dum or similar.

So it is!

Blimey.:eek: What exactly do you do Ben?

She's a taxi and works hard for her keep!!!:D Mostly airports with the odd drunk on a frday and sat night. I keep meaning to put a couple of pics up. Superb elegance titan grey. Will be due a change soon but i've got no idea what will replace it, it's just been so good. Maybe just a facelift version, not much out there to match it for space and new shape gonna be too much money for a while. Although i see drivethedeal.com are already starting to give bit of discount on them. Even more on octavia vrs;)
