Acceleration/top end/1/4mile stats for tricked out vrs's

Featured Replies

has anybody with a remapped 2.0tfsi vrs or chipped vrs got any accelaration and top speed or 1/4 mile stats for their cars. be interested to know what i can expect when i return from iraq in 3 weeks, my new blufin is at home waiting for me.:D

maybe we could start a thread with everyones performance figures, bhp, torque acceleration, 1/4 mile and top speed(in a law abiding place of course)

Well for the 60-100 it will be around 7-7.2 ish seconds. Stage 2 maps do it around 6 secs. I never timed anything else.

Unnecessary inclusion of quote.

To put it into context, my Octy 2 TDI VRS will 60-100 in 4th in 10.7 secs.

50-70 is done in 4.4 secs.

I dont know whether this is average, good or bad for a diesel VRS.

I did test runs before & after a BlueFin installation on my vRS TDI a few weeks ago and took 1.4 secs off the 50-90mph in 6th time (pretty tough speed range as it starts @ 1500rpm). My times were;-

Octy vRS TDI - 15.5 sec standard

Octy vRS TDI - 14.1 sec BlueFin

For comparison for the same 50-90mph in 6th, from a recent EVO group test

BMW 123d - 13.7sec

Scirocco TFSI - 15.4 sec (same TFSI engine as the Octy vRS but lighter)

A remapped one would be nearer 6s 0-60 and top end around 155mph.

sounds sweet, alot of people have said to pretty much ignore the 0-60 time, and its the midrange thats important. so looking forward to giving it the beans when i get back in a couple weeks. still pessimistic about what the traction is going to be like, scouting the net the over day and came accross the quaife differentials, thought that could be an option if traction is pants

A remapped one would be nearer 6s 0-60 and top end around 155mph.

I'd go with that.

Imo though a sub 6 sec 0-60 time is possible imo given enough traction on a modded stage 2.1 TFSi. Its the grip that will be the limiting factor obviously on a powerful FWD drivetrain. Mid range is more important in real life situations ie overtaking.

I once saw 170 mph on the GPS in mine, but a more realistic achievable figure was 160 on the gps, everytime.

0-60 was down from 7ish seconds to 5.8 timed on a g- tech meter on the same road. Not that scientific, bit gives you an idea. Mine was running 255 on awesome's rollers.

To be honest I couldn't get anywhere near those figures you guys are quoting, I know I'm a fat knacker but that car has seen off pretty much everything it came accross from here (apart from the highly tuned silly stuff) and the best I saw on a 0-60 run was 6.41secs with a 1/4 mile time of 14.64 both at GTi International. Maximum attained speed was a GPS verified 164mph in Germany on our way back from the Czech road trip but that required one helluva long clear, smooth and straight section of Autobahn and frankly was getting a little hairy at that speed!

So I cant decide whether it's me being a crap 'scaredy cat' driver, or you lot being a tad over optimistic?

Company cars are notably slower :P

I kind of agree with the latter mate...

A mapped vRS won't be doing 60-100 in 6 secs IMO. Especially if 280bhp ones are doing low 6's 0-60. That's a 0-100 fig of 12 secs and would mean a 1/4 mile of mid 13's @ 104-5mph.. Have any done that???

Mikey, did you use to have a CTR?

Eh ? Unless you are talking about stage 1 cars. When i was in Germany i have video evidence of my car doing 60-100 in 6 secs or very close. My car actually does 50-100 in 7secs, i know it's speedo times and like for like it equals a 2003 model M3 on the 50-100 mph. My speedo is out by 2mph. To be honest i don't give a toss about 0-60's i prefer on the road performance.

EDIT: Speedo timings were done with a stage 1 map but with all the hardware mods fitted.

I never timed it but that was one of the TFSI's strengths, mid range punch simulated by a 60-100 run was VERY impressive indeed!

.... are we talking of 'through the gears' or in, say, 6th?

Through the gears mate..

Micky, what power was yours roughly when Stage 1 but with FP, TBE, EVOMS etc?

More to the point, what she running now?

Not so much 'through the gears' but in 4th all the way.

3rd, 4th & 5th were all very impressive, 6th wasn't too shabby either.

Hmm; I'll have to see what time I can get out of my vRS TDI in 4th (if the gearing will take it) ;)

Another thing to take into account is that measuring a cars performance with a stop watch against the speedo is only any good (IMO) for comparing the same cars (or very similar) ie on here etc.

When put against official timing gear, I think you'll find they will be slightly out somewhat..

For instance, my cars when timed against the stopwatch (on speedo) is a fair bit quicker than when it's actually put against the clock at Pod etc..

The only time i had her on the RR when it just had a remapp and nothing else and it gave 237bhp. I then fitted the uprated pump, full Milltek, and then the EVOM's. Going by my speedo when i fitted the mods and not even changing the map it took 1 second off the 60-100:eek:, my 50-100 was the same time as my 60-100 pre mods which took me by surprise.

I haven't timed my speedo since i have had the map tweaked for stage 2 mods but is noticably quicker so i think it won't be too far off 6 secs. I have since fitted a Forge Twintercooler also. It must be around the 280 ish but the map needs a bit of fine tuning.

When i got the speedo run of 6 secs from 60-100 i used third and 4th.
