Lowering - Help, Opinions !

Featured Replies

Ok so Littlebull is booked in for her lowering treat on a set of KW V1s for the 28th of this month at Jabba Sport. (Cant Wait) :D

Im just wondering what is a good (Safe) height to lower Littlebull, as in low enough to look cool  but high enough to avoid speed bumps scraping the underside of my car  etc.

Shes currently on OEM suspension with 17" spiders. Oh shes getting a splitter fitted too best mention that.

Opinions welcome please !

I'd say about a 30-35mm drop. I know people on here have gone for the slammed look

60mm is a good start.

I'll go with 40mm.

Steve

I would say a 30-35 mil drop would be ok for your Furby, I know if I was any lower I would be having problems gettign over the bumps in my area and where my folks stay.

Mines 40mm f/b on 17's and no probs with speed humps as long as you dont stradle them. If you ask me you should go for 50mm rear and 40mm front. Depends on what your daily drive is i suppose. If its over bad roads and humps then go conservative, if it's motorway then why not slam it.

Thats one other thing !

Is the standard (OEM) ride height slightly higher at the back ???

Cos if it is Id like to keep that character etc.

Set the height so that the front wishbones are horizontal. That will create the best handling.

Right here's mine, 12 turns from the bottom on the front, and 2 turns at the back, adjusters in on the back :)

17" wheels 205/40/17 tires and i personally think this height is the best, no nasty scrapes and still looks low :)

I had it all the way on the front and back and it was just silly low and the car lost all driveability

Silly low (not good)

Sensible Low (spot on i'd say)

# doesn't look much different but those extra 12turns on the front make an unbelievable difference

The turns probably just put some pre-load on the spring.

well coilovers used threads and adjuster rings so you can adjust the height of them :)

So i've 'wound' up the coilovers 12 turns from there lowest setting

Im sure wherever you take the car to they will sort it out for you, 12 turns on my coilovers (VMaxx) may not be the same to 12 on your's :)

Jabbasport should sort you out no problem

At a guess i'd say mines is down 50mm maybe

Im thinking 40/45mm now hmmmm

Jason - perfect ride height mate

a think jasc1988 1st pics of his car are how low mines is (roughly) proli not the best way to have it, but a really like the slammed look!!:)

a would advise u to get jasc1988's 2nd setting, that way you can get used to it being relativly (sp) low, and if you wanna go lower then do it after your used to how low it is after its done, if that makes sense lol

Please could you find out the exact ride height of your car for me cos think im going to go for exact same set up as you ??????

Well i know its no exact science but from the road to the arch is roughly 600mm :)

If you could get exact measurement for me theres a beer in it for you when I see you at the next meet. Promise !

Most people seem to go for a 40mm drop for better handling but still be ok with bumps etc

Mine is about 55-60mm drop ish and is prob not what your looing for but her is a pic

The rear is all the way down and the front about 3/4 the way on KW V2

I'd say set it to the highest but thats just me.
