Belkin Question

Featured Replies

For some reason I am unable to post to ask a techie so have posted here.

I have a Belkin transmitter for broadcasting MP3 signal to car radio. Worked great in previous car but in my Octavia and a friends Vectra a high pitched whistle is always present. I don't know if this is because I don't have the original Belkin lead and I am using a non-Belkin power suppply lead. Maybe this lead is un shielded or something like that.

Any help appreciated,

Thanks

Sounds like an earth loop problem - what happens if the MP3 player and FM transmitter are powered from batteries?

Hi,

don't realy know your Belkin unit, but I have a Garmin 660FM which should be able to broadcast audio on selectable channel. Well, while the unit does broadcast (I tested it with a portable radio), I cannot receive any signal from within my Octy. I guess the broadcast power from within the car can't reach the external antenna.

Tried using batteries, works fine. Luckily I have a set of rechargables.

Thanks

Yep - i have a Belkin unit and find it whistles too! Although i tried a crude fix with added magnetic clamp filters at source and termination. 90% cured but on the odd occasion still does it - therefore not completely solved. High revs on the engine can set it off too.
