Clio 1.2 16v as a trackday car

Featured Replies

Nicci spoke to her insruance today and while she was on the phone she asked how much it'd be to buy back her CAT C 04 plate Clio 1.2 16v dynamique. Her thoughts being I could use it as a trackday car instead of the furby (its now are only car for the time being)

What do people think. Cost is £800. To look at it only looks like light bumpers bonnet damge but behind thats it requires pulling out. Car has 4 Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's with plenty of thread. Ferodo DS2500 on the front and makes 75 ponnies with 930KG of weight. Now I have a set of eibach sprintline springs in I could put on and I'm sure I could remove some weight ;)

do it , but £800 sounds a bit steep

you will have quite a bit of fun in it , but soon be wanting more POWER

You'll soon run out of power when you're on track against the bigger boys. For a good track day Clio you want it stripped out and producing 120bhp or so and that'll be a fun little machine.

For £800 I'd rather put the money in a MKII GTi 'Big Bumper' and use that for track days.
