Hullo

I'm considering getting the Fabia roof spoiler for my car, but I need a little advice from "someone who knows".

1) Butts will sell me one for

Hmm. I think the red skoda's spoiler wasn't quite the same... :(

Check out this link - and look at picture B - thats the kind of thing I'm talking about.

Still looking for you, but found a fabia with RS wheels on it.

Those alloys aren't bad at all, but I kind of prefer the new one's I've just got - I'll start a thread to to tell anyone the link to view all the piccies. I went up on Dartmoor over Easter and got a couple of nice shots that just need the reg plate blanking off and posting on my site. Cheers for looking, any help is gratefully received - PS: The RS spoiler in the pic doesn't look quite the same as the butts website has - seems to stick out less?

Those look like the 16 inch RS alloys , id be interested to see what a Fabia looks like on the 17 inch RS ones!

I don't know if my wheels are RS or not - All I am aware of is that they were fitted to new V6 bora's in Australia, which is the only place on the entire internet I found them (VW.com.au - i think it was) They're called VW "evolo" wheels. What the hell Evolo means I don't know. I think its Spanish for something..? The wsbite URL where my pics WILL be is www.geocities.com/devonutopia Its just a blank page at the moment, but I have put the obligatory link to Briskoda in there.. :D

Come on Jas - we want PICS!!!!!! :D

They're on a ZIP disk sat on my PC desk at home - They do say patience is a virtue :D

I promise the first thing I'll do when I get home tonight is download the photos to my PC, doctor the REG plate out, and post them on my site - Should be there by about 9pm tonight. I may also stick some photos of my recent visit to Banger racing in Cornwall - Very good fun.

Of course the other thing you could do is send Manny some pics for the gallery - he's very quick :p

Just teasing ...

Well - I can do that if I knew how - is there an email addy to send 'em to? - I just had a look on ebay to see if I could find the picture that first attracted me to the wheels - just as a tease to all Briskodians, but the item had been removed as it was completed (cuz I got 'em of course) :D

You just have to picture them for the rest of the day (close eyes) - 17" - 5 spoke wheels that slightly bulge out as they get to the middle - and then sinking in to the wheel as they approach the hub, 40 profile Marshall tyres - very grippy - alloy is shiny too at the moment (I've been cleaning them every two/three days until I get a bit more bored with them)

How do you post pictures like Mannyo posted the RS fabia above? I have found a pccie of the V6 bora with my wheels on them and i want to stick it on this thread... heeeelp :(

To send pics to Manny go to http://www.octaviars.com/gallerynew.htm and click on the link - this points to the correct email address. Include your descriptive text with the pics.

As for posting pics in a post - I think they have to be on the web somewhere - there is some stuff in the help but it's a bit hard to understand. Maybe someone could post some simplified instructions - I'd like to know too.

Edited to say actually it's easy to attach an image - use the "post reply" button rather than the quick post box at the bottom of the thread, then go to the bottom of the screen where there's an attachment field with a "browse" button next to it to upload an image from your computer.

How the clever bods do "inline" images is another matter - I'd still like to understand that ...

Well, never mind - I've attached the piccie to my thread starting post in the thread titled "wheel preview". That'll have to do in the short term unfortunately. :(

I don't mean to sound ungrateful, as it was my fault that this thread got off the subject of a prospective roof spoiler, and on to my new wheels. Does anyone have any knowledge of these spoilers and how easy they are to fit. I could do with knowing how much the paint job is likely to cost from my dealer too. (although I can ring them up myself)

I'm not sure on the fitting of the spoilers - the ones I've seen "work" by using

velcro, but they were pretty cheap kits.

On the spraying, I don't know if the dealer's going to be a good idea - they

tend to charge a premium. A specialist paint shop will probably cheaper and

do a better job. Or you could get yourself a compressor and do it yourself! :D
