would making a perspex window for it be quicker and easier, it looks like the glass is flat on that bit and not a particularly odd shape...

They are not completely flat, but IIRC there is enough room in the channels, and enough give in the perspex to take it.

Don't use perspex as it will scratch easily (and even dis colour over time), macrolon is much better although dearer, personally i would continue to look for an OEM replacement, or even try someone like Autoglass.

As Gizmo says, but at least there is no legal issue with using plastic (except in windscreens).

Think I might have a proper bit of glass now, good excuse for me to have an extra drive in it and a natter with another Rapid nut bonus ...

reason I was thinking of perspex is because when we were autotesting we replaced all the glass apart from the front windscreen of an estelle with perspex to lighten it a bit (won the Morcambe car club RWD championship with that one ) and I seem to recall it wasn't a difficult job and it looked OK.

I've got some of the glass you need if required. Did you get the bleed screw and mag I sent a few months ago?

heh, yeah, I got it cheers Dave, didn't end up using it as I ended up having to buy a complete new caliper due to me cracking the old one trying to get the snapped nipple out...

reminds me, I have to send off that app. form for the skoda club.
