Misty Car

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a Skoda Fabia estate 1.4 and the recircaultion button for the vent keeps coming on, it has a mind of it's own. I keep trying to turn it off but it just keeps coming back on, which makes my car all steam up. Also, the alternator warning light does not go out until my car is actaully in motion, say in first gear and within 20 secs - is this normal. My back demister will not work either, until the alternator light has gone out, which means I can't demist my rear window until I have set off- which is not a good idea! Any ideas anybody:)

Alternator warning light is not usual. I wonder if the drive belt is correctly tensioned?

On the recirculation button, I suspect a fault with the button on the dash, or a fault with the wiring to it.

It sounds like the flap motors need resetting, which is something a garage or someone with VAG-COM can do. I suspect the demister and battery warning light could be related - how's your power steering?
