Puncture in Tyre

Featured Replies

Was driving along and heard this thudding noise, pulled up into a side road and my offisde back had this 3 inches of metal sticking in it. :thumbdwn:

The council were doing road works down the same road the other day, so not sure if it came from them. The spikey piece of metal looks like its from a drain cover or something.

Then to make things worse I got all the nuts off except the security one. The security adaptor wouldn't fit in, when I looked at the actual screw head the groves were all deformed. Spent ages trying to file it straight but in the rain when its dark is not fun. Ended up smacking it in with a hammer.

Think I'll try and make a claim to the Council.

Not a happy bunny!

You should, and i'd be interested in finding out how you get on with that. They've left a massive hole in the road on a blind bend where i live, not signposted or anything, came round it the other night and nearly munched my shocks.

Well it's a good start they want to send me a claim form by post, so fingers crossed!

WAIT!!!!! here this 1

Driving to Sligo one Sunday night. Crossed lanes on the dual-carrage way (Slow-Fast). Tipping along nicely, about 70 or so.

BANG......

Didn't no in f*ck what it was, sounded like the front wheel ran over something and flicked it up against the undercarrage.

Slowed down a bit but not much, then, ding...ding..ding...Tyre pressure sensor lights up.

Drive handy enough to car park and get out to take stock of the whole situation.

Rear drivers wheels flat...

OK i said, not too bad, i'l change it and get it patched later in the week in hometown.

Take the wheel off.....What the F*CK was in the tyre ....

CATS-EYE!!!!!!

Full cats-eye complete with rubber surround stuck in my Continental Contact 2.....

Glass of the cats-eye made sh*te of the inside of the tyre!!!

WORST OF ALL

i could claim damages of the council no problem....BUT

Car is on English Plates and i have it in the south of ireland!!!!!!

Technically they can lift the car off me, so i had to bite my tongue..

That's pretty bad, it's a shame you can't claim.

good luck with the claim from the council !

I hit a pot hole in january with my old 206 and it slashed my tyre and curbed the wheel nicely, I got a claim form from my local council sent pictures of the damage and pictures of the pot hole etc etc.....

after a few weeks I got a letter saying they wouldnt pay out and they tried to make out that the pot hole wasnt even there !!!

I was boiling to say the least :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
