Lacquer on sprayed plastic trim

Featured Replies

I've purchased a new piece of internal plastic trim for when I have my RNS510 installed into my Octy vRS.

The piece of trim in question can only be bought in black - so armed with some VW Satin Silver Spray paint I've sprayed the trim up and it really does look very good if I say so myself.

I've done a proper job - plastic primer and then numerous layers of silver, building it up as I was advised with silver.

Now that it is the right colour and looking good, is there something I can put on the top to protect from silly things like finger nails, knocks etc?

This piece of trim surrounds the RNS510 so it will get touched and will be seen every time I'm in the car so want it to stay looking good.

Something like a lacquer on top? Does it need to be something special for plastics?

Ta

I use normal car paint and lacquer and have had no problems with any of mine
