few questions re. fitting mfd

First of all, i know there are a lot of existing threads and i have worked my way through a lot of them(!), but i still have a few questions if someone can help.

Basically i've got hold of an mfd for my mk1 vrs, just the unit, nothing else, so;

can i download the manual from anywhere (link)?

will the latest (blaupunkt) map disc work in the original mfd and where is the best/cheapest place to get it (link)?

where can i get the 'plug and play' loom (couldn't find one on ebay) (link)?

could someone recomend a gps antenna (link)?

In addition, i read on another thread that the code changes detailed on the octavia-vrs.com guide aren't necessary, is this true?
